About this map: This map is derived from publicly posted
data by the National Weather Service for all 155 NEXRAD radar
locations they operate. StormPredator does not guarantee
absolute accuracy of the data displayed, nor can we effect any
change to a particular radar site's status. When precipitation
occurs within the radars range, you'll expect to see data
updated every 5-8 minutes. When the radar is operating in
"clear air mode", the update rate slows to 10-15 minutes
because there is no significant weather occurring.
Typically, the NWS takes radars offline for regular
maintenance, often during periods of no significant weather,
which will show up as a grey "offline" site.
Occasionally, the radar site may experience network traffic problems,
which could be related to a network communications failure or
other event, and would show as "unavailable". A site that is
unavailable for an hour or more is considered "offline". |
